GT350R interior mods

I am looking to begin working on my interior. I have a Son on the way and I am in no rush since I will soon have a "helper" for future mods, but I am making a dream list.

I want my car to appear as a 1965 GT350R tribute. Trouble is the proportions of the car are off enough to make some mods questionable. Due to the hood bump with the 2005+ hood design, I am holding off on the "non-functional" scoop as long as possible.

I am thinking about doing a rear seat delete and putting a cage "hoop" inside like the original cars. I will also put the luggage rails in the back seat to make it appear the original seats are folded down.

Anybody try this already? Anybody got pics of a clean rear seat delete?

Hey Shaun... it's been a while!

Congrats on the News about joining the fatherhood ranks

Nothing like raising the next generation of gearheads!!

Sounds like some very intersting plans for the car. Looking forward to seeing them sometime down the road at Gus's

Hi,
Congrats on the new addition. Check out my got stang blog. I made a hybrid of a 66 hertz and style points of a 67 (hood, emblems) and did a rear seat delete and single hoop roll bar (that was hard to find).

Beautiful tribute! I love the single hoop and rear delete. I was thinking about raising the rear seat delete deck height, adding the luggage rails and possibly a full sized spare as far back as I could fit it in there.

I know because of the actual rear deck and speaker location, I would have to chop the car up to put what I really want into it, but right now I am not going to cut into the metal.

I really like what you did. It is very precise and extremely clean looking.

Thanks for the kind words. I think I got the idea you are trying to do with the rear deck. Contact the folks that I bought mine from. They may can adjust their design to accomidate your needs. I wish you luck. I read an article way back in the day in Mustang Monthly on a guy who bought an original GT 350 R and drove it home (and all the troubles along the way, fuses, fuel pump, etc). I cannot recall how much he paid (this was back in mid 80's) I want to say he paid a lot (for then) I want to say 40K?? I had a friend buy a original BOSS 429 in 1981 for a 10K and we thought he was crazy for paying that much.
