Going to have to replace the Shaker 500
I know it is a decent player and all, but the bright green LEDs are just annoying me TOO much! Plus I really need bluetooth and I found a sweet Clarion HU I like. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_020CX50...1.html?tp=5684
The colors are switchable to blue and I know the unit will do what I need it to. The question is, will I be able to just swap it for the Shaker with only a wiring harness adapter and re-use the existing amp/speakers until I am ready to replace them? Or will I have to get a different amp, etc.
In my last car, the Bose system was a bastardized non-standard configuration that didn't work with anything else.

I use Crutchfield to determine what I want and then buy it somewhere else. I got my last unit on Amazon for $700 where as Crutchfield wanted $1000 , I then bought the $56 installation kit that I would have gotten for free from Crutchfield.

But I am only looking at <$200 units, so the installation parts are a much larger part of the deal than with your high-end stuff. Wiring harness can easily go $30 alone so I will probably do better with the Crutch.
However, since I hooked up my Atrix dock, I have 32GB of my jams easily available so ... the Shaker may be tolerated for a bit longer.
Especially since I am spending money on making the OUTSIDE sound better!

Ha I didn't realize they made that piece yet. I manually added a little capacitor inline on the remote wire for stock amps. I just did mine in a couple hours at a relaxed pace. Mines am older model they replaced with another but my friend sold it to me for basically 150$
