This is the set of 4 carpeted floor mats from Ford Accessories. I'm disappointed with how small the front mats are. They cover much less area than the ones that originally came with the car. Not sure they're worth the $64 suggested retail price. I'll have pics of how they look inside my stang over the weekend.

(1) why are you replacing your mats?
(2) why don't they look like this: http://www.fordaccessoriesstore.com/fas/co...1167&detail=yes
?
Is that the same part number you ordered?

The ones on the accessory web site might be from an 04. Many pictures on the web site are wrong.
But the ones in barjon's pictures certainly don't look to be made of the same quality of material shown on the web site.
How does the quality compare with the factory mats, barjon?

Here's a close up of the driver's side mat, and the label on the box. The picture in the accessories catalog and on the website is from last year.
The carpet is much more plush than the original mats, and there are the rear mats. I was just surprised the front ones are as small as they are. By contrast, my other car's mats with the Taurus logo are bigger than the originals.

I know all auto manufactures have cut back on the loop or pile in the carpet for weight reasons but I remember fondly the old 75 Lincoln's with there 40 plus ounce carpeting. The stuff you would want to take your shoes off in. You can't even buy it anymore as an aftermarket upgrade or replacement carpeting on the classics. I agree it wouldn't be right in our 05's but boy I'd love it in other cars.

hmmm.....I just ordered from the website and thought I was ordering the mats with the "Mustang" script....not sure if I like the solid Pony or not - i'm going to talk to my dealer and see what the deal is. I bet last years would fit fine.
Question - the mats that came with the car are pretty cheap looking and I didn't get any in the rear - was I shorted or does it just come with the front mats?
And I agree - the carpet in the new Stang is very "thrifty" looking - in such a high visibility area - you'd think Ford would use a bit better quality.

Dang it - I can't remember who posted this in another thread but they got mats I LOVE at Advance/Discount Auto parts for like 25 bucks - so I grabbed a set on the way home the other day. Black (with my drk charcoal interior) with the FORD RACING logo on the outside edge - and they have the padded portion where your right foot rests. Love 'em!

That kinda blows that they are smaller. The purpose of the mat, as we all know, is to protect the carpet. Not much protection there if you ask me.
Barry, do you have an aftermarket alarm installed? I noticed the little red LED near the headlight switch.

Yes, John. I bought the car back in October even before it arrived at the dealer, just from the inventory listing on fordvehicles.com. It was the first order they placed for stock and had exactly everything I wanted, except for the factory installed security system. Instead of placing another order and having to wait (and possibly having a difficult time getting the IUP as it turns out), I just had the dealer install an alarm when the car came in. It's a Pursuit by Audiovox.

well cdc is coming out with floor mats, not sure what they look like, no pic available yet.
ex: These luxurious MUSTANG PONY Floor mats are custom made for a perfect fit for your Ford vehicle. This set of 4 is made of “22 ounce” high quality, durable nylon carpeting and a superior, non-slip nibbed backing which keeps these mats firmly in place. Available for 2005 Mustangs, with embroidery appearing on both driver and passenger front mats.
I guess well see when they get pictures of them, but sound nice.
