Factory location for GPS?

I have an 07gt and I installed a pioneer f90bt, but the signal is terrible as I have the gps antena positioned above the front vents inside the dash.

I am wondering where the factory gps antena would if it was equiped with gps oem? I may be able to place it there for better signal.

Thanks.

well i dont know where the factory one was.. but when i had my pioneer avic-d3 installed i got my antenna right on the dash in the corner where the driver seat is... you know when you buy a new car they put the temporary papers on. signal was always good.

If you crawl in the trunk and look up between the speakers, you'll see a few little valleys. I routed mine under the center console, under the back seats, up the firewall, under the deck lid carpet, and in one of those valleys. Signal is great and I've never had a problem with it.

Factory location for the GPS antenna is clipped to a spot behind the instrument cluster. When I retrofitted mine I found it a lot easier to attach the antenna to the top of the heater box behind the glovebox. That gets a clear view up through the windshield with nothing but plastic components above it and the signal is fine. I suspect it is important that the antenna be facing up, not forward.

Exactly where I mounted mine, it is 100% hidden and gets a perfect signal

Looks like I have to reroute mine, I put it facing up ontop of the heater ducts on the front pods. Space is tight however. Maybe I will route it to the trunk, or even put it ontop of the heater box. It is also posible my antenna is bad. The cable might have gotten twisted or something.

The decklid as mentioned should work but I ended up putting mine against the headliner behind the overhead light assembly. Signal has been great.
