E-Brake Rubber
Hello Gang, I was wondering if anyone has the same problem as I ?When I put my E-Brake handle down the rubber rolls down in the slot with the handle. I have to put my finger down in the slot to pull out the rubber. I was thinking if I put a litte grease on the handle or maybe adjust the handle? Has anyone had this little quork?
That is a bit strange. I can say that has never happened to me. Is the rubber installed correctly? If my memory is correct (and don't count on it!), that rubber piece is installed to the inside lip of the opening. So, if it is not installed all the way one, it could pinch the handle too hard with the lips on the rubber.
Just an idea (and probably not a good one!).

Thanks RRRoamer, I think I have an allienment issue. The E-Brake does not go down far enough to let the rubber lay back in place. I have lived with this for 10 months now thinking it was the way it was going to be. The rubber apears to be made into the console the E-Brake can move up and down on the stop I think. anyway it is a very minor problem for such a great car. I noticed you have Eibach springs on your car,Which kind are they and did you need camber plates? Thanks Driver
Driver,
I have the Eibach Pro springs. I LOVE the look! They ARE stiffer and a rougher than stock. I can live with it.
I installed the springs about three months ago and I DO have a bit too much camber. I have not done anything to correct it at this point and I have about 3000 miles the car since I installed the springs and I still can not detect any abnormal wear on my tires.
I plan on buying the cam spindle bolts to allow the camber to adjusted. Ford makes a set and there is another company that just came out with a set that offer more adjustment range then the Ford bolts. I am going to wait until someone else gives them a try before I decide to go with either the Ford or the (other) bolts. Either way, I will fix this eventually and I really don't think the plates are necessary for my car. It's not out THAT much.

This way you can look at how your rubber comes out. It should be as easy as adjusting the metal bracket used to attach the rubber lining to the console. You'll see what I mean if you take it apart.
I definately wouldn't bother taking this to your dealer.
