Double DIN?

Sharp headunit! I too like to nose around in the Japanese sites of Sony, Kenwood, Pioneer and the like. Interesting stuff!
Did you car come with the shaker mid bass speakers in the door? I'm still wondering if the door enclosures of the shaker mid bass speakers are interesting to reuse with some decent speaker or to go without them and mount a midbass directly to the clean doorpanel that comes with the deluxe version with plain radio.

I had the Shaker 500 originally, yes. My installer had to do a bit of fiberglass work to put JL 8W0's in there (guess I need to post more pics), since the magnet on the Shaker "subs" is about the size of a silver dollar. It sounds great though...and I have a friend that's checking to see if my Shaker head unit will fit in his F250...so it may be a win-win.

When I bought the head unit it came with an FM converter, since you're right, they use a different band (and range, too). I got to choose from several different ones, and since I don't listen to the classical ones at the bottom that much (edit: never...nothing against classical music), I got one that gives me a range of 94.0 Mhz to 108.0 Mhz, so all my favorite stations come in just fine. In fact, the stations that broadcast the extra info show up too (meaning the ones that show their name or song title or whatever)
