I really like these door lock pins. The brushed aluminum look would go great with the IUP trim. I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not they'll fit the '05. Aren't they almost a universal thing?

to me, I have them already installed, I think they are pretty much the same as the older ones, i had them installed on my 02 and they do look similar, doesnt hurt to try them, if not, go to California Mustang UPR Products and order them for the '05

I think I'l take your advice and take a chance. I wanted the plastic ones in the pic so they'd match the IUP door handles. (Yeah, I'm weird. I know.)

The pins for pre- 05 won't fit (if they are from UPR) they sent me the wrong set and they won't screw down as far as the 05 pins. UPR sent me a new set and they worked perfectly.

Thanks. Glad I didn't order anything yet. I was hoping maybe they were the same since Steeda has the same part number listed for both.

Ordered anyway. Only $7 from the local Lincoln-Mercury dealer. (My local Ford dealer SUX!)

I got a nice set from MGW that looks and fits great. The brushed aluminum matches well with the other accents in the car.

Same thing happend to me. They were quick to reply and sent me a new set at no cost. Great guys. They said the door pins from 79-89 are 10 x 24 and 90 - 05 are 10 x 32. Apparently the problem is that there are burs left over in the machining process causing them not to fit. Anyway they said they would test the new set before they sent them out.

Well. I bought the UPR stock style, brushed. They'll take some getting used to as UPR obviously doesn't own a tape measure and didn't test fit them. They stick up a lot higher than the original ones. If I can't get used to them, I'll be sending them back.

I just put steeda door lock pins on my car. I may have to add some length to them by borrowing from the originals and epoxy them together. They work now, but turn easily when in the up position.

If they stick up too far, they may be the ones for 99-04. I had the same problem, they wouldn't screw down very far. Called UPR and they sent me the pins for the 05 and they worked.

How far down do yours go?
I emailed them and they claim they are only supposed to go down as far as the top of the door panel. That's a lot higher then the stock ones.

They go down as far as the stock ones did. One of them was really hard to screw down that far - I think their quality control is not great on these pins. Sounds like you have the wrong pins for the 05.

That's what I thought too, but UPR said mine are going down as far as they're supposed to. Also said they've sold "thousands" and I'm the first one to complain. Yeah, right. Anyway, I'm going to have someone at work tap them out a little farther so they'll go down to the right height.

BTW, that's the last time I order anything from them. They got kind of rude in their emails. I don't need that. I'll take my business elsewhere and I'll be sure to pass along my experience with them to everyone I can. Nothing like word of mouth advertising.
