I would bet that for sure that one is not real, and they problably have plans to make an engine start button in the future. Im pretty sure the wiring would be pretty complicated (with the ignition lock that the mustang has).

I think that eventually, someone will have a mod to do that.

Found this on another thread courtesy of Fireseid:

Push button starter
Push button starter to replace cigarette lighter.

And the instruction sheet:

Installation Instructions

Should work right?

Would some one please explain to me the appeal? I understand the pretty factor but beyond that, you have to put the key in the ignition, you have to turn the key, why add an extra step?

I have been looking for a lighted button like this for a while to make an eject button that is backlit. I've seen the replacement lighter with eject, but it looks cheesy. Any suggestions on the eject?

The appeal is because it's cool, unique, different, and neat. It has nothing to do with starting the car quicker, just for show.

I understand that aspect - but I'd guess that after looking at it for a few weeks and having to deal with it it grows old fast! Now if we could get a proximity card to replace all keys (a la Mercedes or Lexus) then the start button makes big sense!

I plan on wiring it so it'll start either way. I agree, having to push the button could get old, especially if the aftermarket part breaks, like a lot tend to do. Hopefully the car's computer anti-theft system won't get in the way.
