No, it isn't corrrect. Again there are only 2 amps in the truck, nothing more, nothing less.

Strangely, both of the 1000's I've pulled out had 4 amps on the trunk board- 2 on each side. Tony, can you find any kind of part number on those? I want to compare it to the ones I have in the box in the basement. I guess it is possible they switched to different amps at some point.

I thought I had seen that in some pictures as well, 4 amps, two on the back of the bracket and two in between the bracket and speaker enclosure. Ok, here's an auction showing the amp setup for the Shaker 1000, definitely 4 amps.

I'll be ****ed That's what they must have done. On my 05' I have 2 amps in the doors and 2 in the trunk. I looked at that eBay auction and the bracket looks the same, except that I don't have any amps on the backside of the bracket, only on the front between the enclosure and the bracket.

My '07 has 4 in the trunk as well.

Does your 1000 sound weak compared to others by any chance?

Yeah, I really wonder if they didn't short change you two amps there Tony. Every pic of a Shaker 1000 I've seen has 4 amps. And even though it is different, my 03 GT's Mach 1000 has four amps on the rack. That would really suck if they somehow didn't include your extra amps.

They probably switched from two two channel amps in front AND in the rear (rememeber, all the factory subs are DUAL voice coil subs, so they need TWO channels to drive them the way the are wired from the factory) to using four single channel amps in the rear. They still get the same amount of amplification channels, but I bet they got a better price on the four single channel amps!

Bingo! My Shaker works just fine, I have 2 amps up front, and 2 in the rear. Looks like they made a switch to 4 in the trunk after 05 or maybe even midyear. Mine is a fairly early build (Nov, 04).

Ahh. I thought you had an '06 for some reason. That's why it was confusing as hell. I think I'd rather have your setup. Less is always better.

That's pretty cool actually - wonder if this is the first time anyone has noticed the difference in Shaker 1000's? It would be interesting to see how many early GT's were made with the dual amp setup.

Bringing this thread back from the dead.....

Has anyone else gone this route?? I just purchased a take out Shaker 1000 subwoofer/amp combo, and am looking to fit it into my Shaker 500 system.

The SHaker 1000 has 4 additional amps to power the subs.
The Shaker 500 alone has 2 each one powering the left or right sub.
totatling 6 amps in your car...

So if I understand this correctly you took the two separate power wires coming from the Shaker 1000 amp harness and ran them to the two fuses (#6, and #9) in the fuse box under the hood? How did you accomplish this? The type of fuse ford used on these connections is a non-standard cartridge type fuse....I want to do this, because I think if I run the power directly to the battery +, then the amps won't ever turn off.
