Dead pedal from CDC now available

krnpimpsta,
http://www.autovation.net makes pedals that bolt on. The only problem I've had with them is getting the top two holes drilled on the brake pedal, and there is no real secure way to mount the dead pedal. I've tried using drywall inserts and screwing into them (the screws go thru the carpet and into a foam block), but they're a real B*TCH to line up right.
As you can see in this pic, there are 4 bolts holding the gas pedal on, and three on the brake and clutch pedals.

Hoping for something like this
I guess I was hoping for something closer to this little pic. A full coverage dead pedal that plays on the 3 rubber strip idea. Is that what UltimatePedals is shooting for? Or will it be more of the rubber circles?

You've got my attention. Would the rubber strips be a the same thickness as the GT500 pedals? The rendering makes them look a little thin (or they're spaced a little farther apart.. I can't tell). If yes, then I'm sold!

I think the strips on the GT500 pedals have the same thickness & spacing as the strips on the stock pedals if you have access to a stock stang. They're just not as noticable without the aluminum. But I could try to measure when I get home.

After all this time, the CDC pedals are a disappointment. There's virtually no coverage.
I think spike has the right idea. The new Ultimate Pedals design looks promising. I'll be watching closely.

I would post a pic of my setup, but unfortunately my car is in the shop currently. I would say that maybe Thursday PM I can show it.
...what I have is the CDC pedal set and the Saleen dead pedal bracket and pedal.
IMO, the CDC dead pedal looks like a thin sheet of aluminum with 3 rubber stick-ons, and looks almost out of place compared to the regular pedals.

Autovation was with self tapping screws. I drilled holes and then used silicone glue in the holes and "wet" set the screws. I backed my pedal with a cut piece from a $1.99 rubber mat so there is rubber showing in the holes.

For the autovation, I don't like the idea of drilling holes in the sheet metal.
So there is a block that sets loose under the carpet and the pedal mounts to that. Better than drilling holes in the metal. How stable is it?
