Hello,

As some of you know, we have launched a summer promotion of our website and WE COVER SHIPPING on all orders above $50.

That special WILL EXPIRE at the end of August - we have already decided that and it's definite. So, if you're still deciding if you'd like just a shift boot (or just an ebrake boot) or both - do get both. It's much more economical now - but only if you do it by August 31st!

Here's a color combination we have found particularly cool for those who have tan-ish interiors. This is a black/sierra two-tone with silver thread. The black will match the wheel (and any other black pieces of your interior, and let's face it, we all have some black in our interiors), the sierra will match the tan-ish accents of the interior and the silver will match any aluminum parts (shift ****, perhaps) you have added... Replace sierra with whatever color theme you have going in your interior, and it's a perfect color set!!

Thank you and drive safely!

Hello everyone!

We have decided to add VINYL DECALS to each order. Everybody who orders, will receive two of them. One is colored, the other - grayscale. Use them as you like, but if you decide to put them up on your car, we'd be honored.

THEY ARE 100% FREE OF CHARGE, OUR PRICES ARE NOT AFFECTED BY THE ADDITION OF THOSE DECALS AT ALL!

Here's what they look like. First the colored one:

And the black/white one, on two different cars:

Here's a wider angle shot to show the rough size (it's 7 1/8 by 4 3/4 by the way):

I didn't really stick it well, you can see the transparent backing... Obviously with more time and patience you can do a much better job.

Following the information you received before, we have cancelled the summer special. That's right, no more free shipping! But I wouldn't be myself if I posted this without a discount code now, would I? So, here's one for your ordering pleasure!

KE3572B3KI6 - valid until midnight on September 12th!

Oh, and what to do if you would really want the decals, but you've ordered our products already? Well, we WILL GIVE YOU A FREE SET OF DECALS, all we need to charge is shipping ($6). Just click here to order:
http://www.redlinegoods.com/order.shtm?product=decals

Thank you and drive safely!

Hi!

Another month has almost passed by, so here's another discount code, with a new color suggestion.

I was actually surprised when I saw these after I picked them up from my seamstress. It looks awesome in my opinion - much better than I expected it to.

This is SIERRA/BROWN two-tone and I believe it would be a great match for those interiors that have wood or woodgrain inserts. Replace sierra with black or charcoal (whatever will match your seats) and if you have wood inserts, the boots are going to really enhance the wood theme!

Here's the code. Valid until the end of September!

357K2V9H0JO

Thank you,
Maciek

Nice looking boots Maciek. I got mine about 6 months ago and they are still holding up. I installed my Hurst Shifter last night, and I'll post pics here as well to show how well Maciek's shift boot adapts!

Stay tuned for pics...

I ordered up the above set from Redline goods, and here are the pics. I think it looks great, and love the feel and smell of real leather. The sierra is definitely not an exact match for Parchment, but I am happy with the look.

Note that this is the Hurst shifter, and it sets the shift **** about 3/4" higher than stock.

Hope this helps those who are looking.

What's the best Redline Color match for the Dark Charcoal Interior? Would it be Black or Charcoal? Thanks

I went with the Charcoal, and it doesn't match real well. I would recommend going with the black since that will match the center consul.

I've had my leather boots (all 3) for about 4 months installed. And I gotta say the fit and finish is great for the shifter and armrest.

** But the E-Brake boot needs to be larger. The E-Brake can not be pulled up very far, and I mean not ALL the way up, I would say about 1/3 of the way. I took my car in for service and when I came up the E-Brake was pulled up very far, stretching the leather a lot. It is now out of placement on the front of the E-brake bracket.

If an additional 2" could be added it would fit much better, as well as a bit longer so it does look stretched when down.

Hi,

thank you for a very insightful observation. We've made the ebrake boots longer slightly (I think the pictures above prove that, the initial ones were a bit shorter)...

But, if the majority here thinks they should be longer still, please let us know and we'll revise the design.

As for extra 2" of leather in the front, the problem with that is that that would make the boot bunch up more when the ebrake is released (which needless to say is it's NORMAL mode of operation )... The boot is only supposed to be long enough in order to allow for pulling the handle up enough to engage the handbrake, I'm thinking from your description that the service guys yanked it way too high than was needed?

Please let me know your thoughts on this.

Yes I would agree, the service guy did yank it up wayyyy too far. But if the top leather could be made longer (it wouldn't looked streched in the down position). Multiple people have commented on that and it's one of the reason's they haven't ordered.

Yes I would agree, the bunching up would be a problem. Now that mine has streched with age it does sometime bunch up preventing the brake from going all the way down (it's not engaged anymore though). I guess there's no real solution at this point.

But after 4 months the leather is holding up great, I've conditioned it once a month since I got them.

The shift boot is great

Consider it done. We'll extend the ebrake boot by 1" as of today.

Anybody willing to order one and send us pictures proving the fix worked for 50% off the ebrake boot?

Or anybody who orders the COMPLETE (all 3 items) set and sends me pics of all items, particularly the ebrake boot, will get the ebrake boot for FREE ($30 reimbursement after I receive the pics).

Offer valid for the first 2 people who order either just the ebrake boot or the complete set and write "BRAKE BOOT SPECIAL" in the comments field.

I must have one of the later design, because my ebrake boot seems fine. It bunches up a little when down, and it is not stretched but just almost straight when full up. I wouldn't add any more leather, I think it would be too much leather bunched up when down. Matter of fact, it's enough leather now that I have to push down on the ebrake handle just a tad to get it all the way down when the brake is releaseed. Not really a problem, but the handle just doesn't drop all the way down like before. Like I said, any more leather would just make this more pronounced.

In other words, the latest design seems fine to me, and I am very picky.

Actually, I don't think the 1" is necessary. There is ample leather there now, as my pics show.

Also, and more importantly, there is an adjustment nut that can change the tightness of the ebrake cable and therefore the height the ebrake handle is pulled, right at the base of the handbrake. With the leather boot on, it can't be accessed, but as stock or with the center console removed, it can. It's just a simple nut on the end of a set screw, and and be set for tighter/less slack operation so the handle does't have to be pulled up as far.

I've seen Stangnut adjust his all the time, because he likes it tight.

Any more leather is just going to be more leather bunched up during the up or down position, and not needed, and the brake can be adjusted in either case.

Hope this helps.

These pictures where taken as far as I could yank mine up.

So do I get a 30 dollar refund?

I think I inadvertedly confused you guys.

What I meant was that we'll ONLY make the TOP of the ebrake boot 1" longer! I'm not going to change the amount of leather BELOW the handle. I want the TOP to look LESS stretched with the EBRAKE down!

Your pics look OK but I think you could easier close the velcro around the handle covering the groove FULLY if you had an extra 1" of material on top.

Yes I agree 100%, the top of the boot would benifit greatly by 1" extra leather on top! I would agree it appears the new design has more leather, so I would leave the bottom alone.

Yes you can see in the pictures posted above when the brake is down, the top piece looks stretched.

Thi does make sense, and I do agree that an extra 1" up top would look better with the boot down, it does look a little stretched.

Last pics. I like the virtual 1-2 shift with the Hurst Shifter.
