I have some final pics of my auto shift boot. This is the new boot with the handle flap. I just cut the leather flap off, leaving a little bit and then folded that over and glued it. You can't really see where the flap was, and it looks like it came that way. Here are three pics... with the car in park, drive and then first.

THANK YOU ACADIAN!

It seems as though we have finally perfected the shift boot for the automatic Mustangs! The future boots will be made without the flap and with the respective panel folded and sewn, just like all the other ones!

We haven't had time to add it to the website fully (with a dedicated product page) but we have made it possible to order this product (in all possible combinations with our ebrake boot and armrest cover:

AT shift boot, ebrake boot, armrest cover: $120 ONLY, save $30

AT shift boot & ebrake boot: $70 ONLY, save $20

AT shift boot & armrest cover: $80 ONLY, save $20

AT shift boot: $40 ONLY

Thank you for reading!

Bryan,

it's up to you really, I will be glad to fix it for you, but if you fixed it yourself, you'd have it ready quicker.

I guess my main concern is once I cut the flap, what will make the hole tight near the shifter handle ? The flap foldered and secured with velcro and since there is a slit - will that keep it loose with-out the flap ?

Bryan, if you rig it it will look fine. I did that because I'm impatient, but it actually turned out really nice. Just cut about 90% of the flap off... just leave a little to fold in and then use some glue to keep it down. I used Goop. That stuff will glue anything to anything. Then, I took off one of the pieces of the velcro on the boot (not the flap) and glued it next to the other piece on the other side... basically just made that piece longer. Then, I took the piece of the flap and glued it onto the inside of the other side of the boot (the side I took the velcro off of). Is this making any sense? Then, once yo install it you can just velcro one side of the boot to the other. It ends up being pretty tight.

hmm.... lol. I still think I will send mine back for a trade-in I am more worried about the flaps that are suppoed to close and the lack of material to tighten it.

I have decided to possibly just buy a new Auto boot. Since it is only $40 and to ship it back might be a massive pain, since they are in Poland Anyone have any experience with shipping to Poland ?

It's really not a big deal at all, USPS Global PRIORITY Mail - one week, $6 or so.

Bryan, I shipped my shifter frame to Maciek a while back so that he could make the boot from it. It costed I think $7 and he got it in just under a week.

Maciek , one last question before I decide.

Is there a difference in the new boot vs the one I just got , beside the obvius flap ? I ask becuase I am curious if the new boot still has the same 3 in slit in the front (I am referring to the one on the TOP of the boot where the shfter handle comes out).

I'm not sure what you mean... Same 3?

I'm sorry. The Keyboard got the best of me.

What I meant was does the new boot have the same 3 inch slit ?

Of course, the length of the slit is the same. Why does that make a difference?

So the only difference with the new boot and the boot with the flap is the Flap ? If so, what secures the front 3 inch slits together ? If you want I can take some images to point out what I am talking about

I think it needs that slit to fit over the "T" handle. But, since there is no longer going to be a flap over the handle, I think Bryan is asking how will the new boot velcro tight once installed?

Same as your first boot, the top flap is a bit wider and goes on top of the bottom one. I actually think cutting off the flap completely and cutting off a strip of the flap from the FRONT of it (the velcro part) and using that strip to secure the two front flaps (left and right of the slit) will make for a more flat fit though.

Bryan, why don't you try the current boot (cut off flap, glue rear panel and cut off a strip of the flap to secure the front panels) for now and if you ever want to replace it, I'll send you another one, no questions asked?

Thank you, Maciek.

I will test this setup. I might, however, order another one just so I can test both and get a better opinion of the look

Trust me... we cajuns are stupider. And I drive to Texas a lot. You Texans drive a lot better too.
