Creating Alpine Background Files - .APN

Does anyone know a program to create your own background files for the Alpine Head Units?

If Alpine can do it, then there has to be software SOMEHWHERE, right?

They use the extension .APN

Daryl- Did some research for you.

Read all posts by 'Daniel' this thread completely. He goes into great length of the conversion process and also has links to his own websites regarding this.

As far as getting your jpg onto your Alpine, contacting Daniel is your best bet.

If you want to use some that he's already converted, they can be found here. Mustang wallpapers are on page 6, but I like the ones on page 5!

Thanks Bill.
Yea I found that same website after I posted the question. LOL. Was still hoping for some software that idiots like me could figure out.

You would think one's available somewhere!

Darn Alpine and their proprietary files!

See I don't understand that type of thinking. IMO that would make for a GREAT selling feature. Create your OWN personalized Alpine Background. Hell they could sell the software and make MORE money

Probably because people like me would experiment with questionable images.

Thus, Alpine won't want their reputation tarnished.

Which do you like better?

Attachment 8787

OR

Attachment 8788

I would like to see the Running Pony (no stripes) on an Alpine Blue Background, instead of black.

Of the 2, I like the black background one.

Lots of images can be found here. P/S one that you like and send a request in to Daniel. In the meantime, you can still look around for a conversion program.

AWESOME.
Looks like the only option (for now) is to submit a request to Daniel at the above links. Only problem is, his test unit is getting repaired so he is not accepting anymore requests at this time.

You can download Alpine created Wallpapers as well HERE. Just register, there are quite a few to choose from.
I chose this one.

I wish there was a way to have a "screen saver" feature on these units. So when not in use for....10 seconds or so (except for nav) the screen displays the current wallpaper.
