Sooo...when I got my Mustang, I opted out on the leather...and now Im thinking Id really like to have it.

The question is...just how hard is this to swap out? I remember back in the day needing dog-rings and all kinds of stuff when you did upholstery, still the same way? Just curious if anyone has done this.

 

Do it thats were I got mine and I love it took about 5 hours to do but well worth it

Here ya go: http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=448572 . I put a set of leather covers on my 'vert and it turned out great. The real key is to make sure you place the leather down on the foam foundations and seat the velcro strips FIRST. This will make sure your covers are nice and tight with no slack. The other thing is don't panic if you get them and unpack them from the box and they are all wrinkled up. Put them in the warm sun for a while and they'll be good as new. I'd recommend putting them in the sun for a while anyhow after you get them put on. A couple of other cautions - there are LOTS of sharp parts inside those seats, and they'll cut you faster than you can believe, so take your time. The other caution is be very careful taking out the front seats. They are heavy and awkward, and the feet that hold them in will scratch your door panels VERY VERY easily leaving a permanent mark. Rolling down your windows, and covering the door panels with blankets can help alot, as well as putting a little blue painters tape on the seat mounts where they stick out. A bit of an effort, but it sure as heck beats having to live with a scratched up door panel. Post pics when you are done!

 

I figure one day when the chintz fabric wears out I will probably recover in leather...
