for the S-197??????
Easy. Two screws rear of console compartment, may also be one screw at the heal of the E-Brake handle in compartment. Lift from rear. Unsnap shifter trim boot. Slides right up &out. Two side pieces of center stack are just cliped in also.

1) Take off shifter bezel...
2) Upper console removal - Lift console lid and there is two screws, one on each side under the lid, towards the back. Remove them and then you can pull up the top part of the console. It snaps into place towards the front, by the radio.
3) Lower console removal - Take the piece of carpet from out of the center console. There are two screws that come out. Now at the front, by the radio, there are two screws that need to be loosened so that the nut they go into can un-expand. Once thats done, just lift up at the back and it snaps off at the front.
It sounds very involved, but its actually really easy. There are only six screws altogether. Most of the work involved is trying to figure out what the hell you are doing the first time around.
