Just installed some billet AC ***** and a word of advice. Be very careful and gentle when installing. The notch has to be just right and you should push them on gently.

I installed them at dusk and must have "forced" them on because now my ***** don't have any stops at the extremes (i.e cold and hot). While my new ***** look good, a couple of them now rotate 360 degrees. They still work fine, but it bugs me that they don't have the natural stops they once had.

So be careful out there!

Thanks. I think I may have to actually get new switches. Not a big deal. I;ve got to say that the switches seem to look like they're pretty low quality and that's part of the reason I changed out the *****. I got tired of the cheap plastic feel.

Caballo,

You didn't break them. I bought some billet ***** and they have the same problem on the temperature and function *****. The fan speed **** still works properly. Depending on which specific vendor you bought from, yours would be the same as mine or all three will spin. Many other people have posted with similar results. The problem is that they are not manufactured with the stops on the *****.

I have been lazy about it, but I think I've figured out a simple solution. If you look at the recesses in the dash panel, it has the locks for the stops inpressed in the plastic. My theory is that a small piece of plastic or metal, superglued in the proper place on the *****, will hit the locks and the stops will be back. I haven't tried it, even though I've looked at them a lot to figure this one out. I'll try and actually do it this weekend, and post the results.

Good news is, it's not just you, and you didn't break it.

I bought my set from UPR. My temp **** (center) and select **** (right) both spun around 360 degrees. I was a little upset, so I took them off and got a bright light. There is a raised area in the dash that the ***** will hit against. I just reinstalled them and gently pushed them as far as I could, until they were flush with the dash molding.

It may be worth taking another look, in some good lighting. Mine work as good as the OEM ***** now. I thought I had broke them but I just needed a little more light.

I had the same problem. You need to push them in further for the stops to work.

OUPony and 2Slack,

You guys rock! I got back in my car after I saw your posts and gently puches the ***** in. Voila! They work as advertised now, stopping at the stops and not too tight so they don't scrape.

It's people like you that keep my interest here. Everyone is willing to help and do what they can. Thanks so much!

Eric
