I know I have seen images of someone how blended the radio mount trim to the interior faceplate where the radio/ac controls are located. Anyone know who this member is or the thread ?

Yes, I tried searching, but came up with nothing.

The only ones I've seen are plates that cover the areas you want to blend. You could mold your stereo faceplate to the center trim piece and just have it set against the stereo body. I still think a plate would be your best bet and you might have to shim up the center trim piece to get it to sit flush with the stereo face

 

I believe there was some discussion on this where the guy put in an 8" Computer monitor in-dash to work with an on-board PC...
