Infinity Kappa 682.7cf 2 ways with amps sound really nice. I wish I had gone with those instead of my infinity reference 6812cf. I also have pioneer 6871R 3 ways. I am not amplified right now so I may just hook up a 4 channel and see how far my speakers can go.

If you don't have an dedicated subwoofer, you may want to look into a component system. The bass from component systems always sounds cleaner than 2 or 3 way speakers, to me at least.

Edit: sorry forgot that you don't want to drill for tweeters. forget the component system. although research other mounting options, there may be a few out there that don't require drilling for best results.

I bought the SilverHorseRacing billet door handles and figured while I have the doors apart I'll do the front 6x8s. I picked the Pioneer 4-ways based on how they sounded in the store. I have terrible sinus issues and Bass is not my problem, I needed Treble, so they seemed like a great choice for me. They do have more Bass then I expected, but I never got close to wrecking my stockers, so it was more an act of convenience.

Infinity Kappa's are really good... Personally I also like Boston Acoustics. Either way is a great way of improving the sound of your stereo!

I've got a set of Kappa 682.7cf 2 ways in my Lightning. Really nice, really efficient, very crisp highs and a sharp bass. I've got Pioneer Primier 4 ways in the Mustang, sound great and much better than stock, but I was I had Kappa's in the front doors.

Overall I am pretty satisfied with my pioneers. But because I can't take on the weight of a subwoofer, I just wished I spent the extra $60 and went with the kappas for the front. Live and learn.

I had Infinity Kappa's in another car and LOVED them, except for the fact that they didn't have as much bass going through them (the highs sound REALLY good, though). I don't like LOUD bass, I just like enough to complement the music. So, to fix that, I added an Infinity Basslink.

JBL is made by the same people that make Infinity (Harmon-Kardon). I think that they are more or less the same speaker, but less money.

BTW, check crutchfield's site often, because they usually have a buy one, get one 1/2 off sale on Infinity. I think they may even have buy one, get one free on Infinity sometimes (I haven't looked in awhile, so I may be wrong about the free one)

i have been hearing alot about Infinity's and i am really thinking about them for my rear deck, also the link i put up that had the Boston Acustics with the component and tweeter in the same 6X8 plate. i am looking for something with good bass and good clear sound, but i had DB Speed's on my old car and they sounded nice but crutchfeild does not sell them

I have the shaker 1000 system and I upgraded all of the speakers. I use the Rockford Fosgate 6x8 three way speakers in the doors and rear deck. I put in the new Pioneer slim 8" subs in the door and two TMA 10 inch subs in the rear. The mids and highs are much more crisp and the lows are more powerful and solid. I am using TMA amps and the Pioneer AVH-DVD 6800 head unit. I really think that the head unit change made a big difference so don't be too disappointed if you just change the speakers and the sound doesnt improve as much as you like.

did you use your factory sub encloser or new ones, cause i like the ease of the factory one, all in one spot and easy access to the trunk space

I have the SL80's in the front and s85's in the rear on a stock HU and they sound great. Mid bass is good and the highs are very crisp. The door subs compliment them very nicley. You won't be disspaointed if you go with the Boston's.

i was thinking about the SL80 in the front and something strong in the back, since sometimes i like having the stereo cranked up to hear that awesome bass (i am a techno and rock person) so i want something that will last but also sound awesome and hit hard when i need it to even though i have the factory subs to do that

I used the factory shaker 1000 enclosure. I had it painted red like my seats and put brushed aluminum colored TMA subs in it.
