AVIC-D3 in a 'vert?

I'm wondering if anyone has installed one of the Pioneer Avic-D3 head units in a convertible. If so, is the screen display bright enough to see with the top down on a sunny day?

Good to know. It looks like a fantastic system, and a wonderful fit in our cars.

Is it true , you can't play music while driving down the road, because of the navigation on it?

And if you insist on CD (Though my factory Shaker 500 hasn't seen a CD in more than a year thanks to an iPod hookup) you can always add a trunk mounted changer.

Dougxox I have a Z1 in my 02 Vert. On sunny days with the top down it does get hard to see the screen, but it is not totaly washed out. For 90% of the time it is not a big deal. My one complaint is that it doesn't offer the RDS for the radio.

How do you like the Remote? I have been considering getting it. It would be nice for the blutetooth unit, that way I would not have to reach to the screen to dial.

remote works ok, but I have knocked it off twice, due to pushing on it too hard, otherwise I like it. Would have been nice to have a factory controlls on the steering wheel.
