No. You need those 'Y' cables. RCA to mini headphone jack cables.

Question,

Will this adapter work with something like this?

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-IJFZF3VqS88/c...50&I=209XMD1000

or does this require a handheld thing like the XMCommander?

The new P.I.E. adapter will work with it since the XM satellite radio tuner you refer to has RCA input plugs. The new adapter has RCA plugs as well, so all that you'll need in addition is a set of wires with RCA plugs from RadioShack to connect radio tuner to adapter. Will set you back about $10.

The minute I heard about this I ordered 2. Yesterday I got this email. I've waited this long. I guess I'll live.

Your order has been placed on hold because the product you ordered is
new and has not been released by the manufacturer. As stated on our
website, "This product will be available to ship mid-September. P.I.E.
will air ship an initial quantity of these devices into the States in
approximately 6-8 weeks and will immediately ship product to Logjam
Electronics."

Please remember, Logjam Electronics NEVER charges your credit card until
the order actually ships so there is no risk to you, as you can cancel
your order at any time. Therefore, we have placed your order on hold
until this product is available.

Adam, I got the same e-mail after I ordered and there were only 4 orders placed when I made mine. You are still on the list of the first alloted shipment. They are just telling you that it won't ship out until they receive them from PIE.

If i understand correctly that piece is just the tuner. And you would need a XM compatible head unit to control this piece. Meaning you can't use this with the stock radio.

I just ordered one. Not sure what my exact backorder number is, but the site was displaying # of orders to date: 146 (08/07/05), both before and after my order.

I think the site remains "dormant" over the weekend. In other words, orders on Sundays are credited on Monday and the number is updated.

You were right. Got an email today saying I was #147 of the first 200. And the site now says 158 have been ordered.

This piece allows you to hard wire your XM tuner into the shaker system. This is done as opposed to the other way - the FM Modulator. The sound should be crisper and you are no longer a driving radio beacon. You don't have to tune the radio to an FM station to use your XM system. You just press AUX and the system connects to the XM tuner. All station changes and such will happen on the tuner that you will have to place.

I ordered one, have had XM directly connected to all my stereos, and will not settle for mediocre sound, not mediocre FM. It'll kill me to listen to CD's for a while.

Ok, they picture the Shaker on their site, but make no mention of the single-disc cd player. I'm guessing it would work because it has the same face and same "reaction" when you push the AUX button. Does anyone know for sure?

Chris - I've been preoccupied with "modding" the F-150 - but still dig my GT. I use the F-150 as a daily driver now and the Mustang has become sort of my garage queen....I take it out several times a week and boy is that hp rush GREAT!!

BTW - I did indeed get the AF1 intake for the F-150 and it really helps wake up that 5.4L 3V engine! Gene treated me right and I thank you again for the referral - if we ever hook up - lunch is on me! Next time you speak with Gene be sure and mention how I appreciate him taking care of me and ask him how his "Dynamat" project is coming along! Since we have last traded e-mails I have added the Maganflow SIDO (rear bumper exit) exhaust, the AF1 intake and have the Troyer Performace Tune with the XCal II coming - can't wait....these F-150's make good power - if you can overcome Ford's conservative tune that is!! I also have one of the Jet PowerFlow TB spacers on order for the GT - not counting on big hp gains - but looking forward to feeling the change in the "fun to drive" factor....
