aux input with usb for an 05?

Does anyone make a aux input that supports usb for an 05 with shaker 1000? Or is the pie aux input still the only way to go? Is this still the one most are using.

Got a droid for xmas and plan on getting the car adapter so I can use it as navi and jukebox.

Its still the only way, unless you can score an 07+ radio and the stereo jack, and get it to work in your car.

You can upgrade your stereo too. IMHO the Shaker 1000 leaves much to be desired with both features and sound quality. You can easily upgrade your stereo for not much more than what it would cost you to get the PIE adapter.

I have the Pioneer FH8000BT and I couldn't be happier. It not only plays through USB (iPod and USB mass storage devices including thumb drives), but also has Bluetooth hands free and Bluetooth audio (streams music over your BT connection, both of which the Droid supports. You can even listen to music from the Pandora app on the stereo, or you can watch movies on the droid and hear it over the car speakers...not..that..you would...that would be dangerous...and stupid. But your passenger could.
It also has a headphone jack for analog AUX input, which comes in handy if you have a Zune, which it doesn't support through USB.
And it's only $330 which is a hell of a lot cheaper than an AVIC deck.

Yea I wish my shaker 500 had BT. One of the younger engineers that I work with just got a 09' focus with sync. I rode with him to lunch the other day and synced my Storm with his radio and streamed Pandora. The sound quality is really good too. It would be an awesome upgrade if you have the extra cash!

You'll have to get a wiring harness kit (Crutchfield includes it free) which you then hook up to the wire harness that comes with the radio and it becomes all plug and play. You'll have to wire in a small voltage regulator into it, but it's really easy. Absolutely no cutting of any factory wires. Now, I had the Shaker 500 installed (which is the same head unit as the 1000), so I'm not 100% sure how the drunk subs are hooked into the harness but there are plenty of guys on this forum that would know. I'm willing to bet it would be the same as the 500.

As far as the bass goes, my door subs can go a lot louder now than they could on the stock HU. And you can control them independently of the master equalizer.

Reference these two threads for info:

Does anyone know of something that one can unplug the stock harness, plug that into the gizmo and the gizmo into the radio. Bingo, you can now charge and use your iphone thru your shaker 500?

You'd think there must be I have an 07 mind you bout if there is an extra plug for the differnt cable I had to get for all the factory stuff to plug into the Pioneer there was a plug I plugged in a cable for my i-pod touch or phone that connects right up & when stopped the movies work great. I love the hands free blue tooth for the phone.

ps if I pull the unit out I will take pics of it all if I can't find any .

Look at the Scosche FM-MODO2 or PAC Audio ISimple products. There's probably other manufacturers out there to that have what you're looking for.

I have an fm modulator and just not real happy with it. I can tune it to any freq and have had some succes but it never fails, the station I pick will be dead air on the way to work, and be broadcasting on the wa home. That's why I was looking for a plug and play to use the radio.

Is your fm modulator a direct connect one or just the ordinary one? Direct connect fm modulators connect in line with your car antenna and are powered so you won't have those types of issues.
