why didnt you use a "t" fitting and use your factory guage, and sending unit at the same time?
I thought about that, but since I was familiar with doing it this way (from my other Stang), I felt comfortable enough to just ground the stock gauge and be done with it. No other reason really

The correct adapter (metric to 1/8" NPT) will show up on Tuesday. I don't know why Autometer doesn't use the same size sensor for mechanical and electric gauges! I'll probably wait until the weekend to install it, since I'll have to reroute the wire I previously ran, and will end up losing a little coolant when I pop that plug out of there I'll post a pic of where the adapter/sensor goes, maybe even a few pics of what temp our cars are running at when they're fully warmed up. On a related topic, I'm using the Predator to adjust the temp at which the cooling fan kicks on. I'm gonna have the high-speed fan kick on at 185 or 190, and shut off at 180.

So the bottom line is this - if you put in a mechanical water temp gauge, you're going to need Autometer part number 2275. If you put in an electric water temp gauge you'll need Autometer part number 2268.

At least it's easy to get to! On my previous stang, a 96GT, there's no way I could have used that spot for a sensor - impossible to access without dropping the K-member :bang: Looks like you have a kryptonite leak there Gordon Thanks for the pic though

I just bought an A/F ratio gauge and the DPIC from autometer....I bought the E-Pod gauge console that fits right on top of the steering column cover. It replaces the factory cover and looks like the old gauge package from the 65-66 mustang.

Where do you tap into the dimmer circuit????

Hey Lee - wish I could help, but I didn't tap into the dimmer wire. My gauges are lit all the time. Maybe dustindu4 can chime in here, I think he tapped into the dimmer wire. If not, then I'll talk to mustangshadow today - he'll be at my house in a few hours.
