Auto dimming mirror connections

2007 Ford Mustang convertible, V6
Added Gentex auto-dimming rearview mirror with compass and temperature display.
Able to install in about 4 hours, thanks to the on-line instructions from mustang forums.The warning about removal of OEM mirror and breaking the glass not an issue, only issue was which end of the mount I had to release the mirror.Tried using jewelers screwdriver on the mirror but too wimpy.Did use small flat blade screwdriver, inserted into the bottom of the mount and pushed it all the way up, then pivot the screwdriver to peel the OEM mirror off.New one fit on perfect.
Installing temp sensor onto the front bumper bracket, hope this will be a good spot for consistent readings
Only problem is the connections.Couple of questions,

When I took down the interior reading light module, there was an 8 pin flat connector not being used, could I tap off this for power and stuff?
The fuse panel listed a fuse for electrochrome mirror, what is this for?
I have the harness at the fuse panel, passenger’s side, and have three wires, ground, power and a wire to be connected to back-up light circuit, where do I find this?

Any help and/or comments greatly appreciated.
