No the stock style pins from UPR do not go down as far as the original pins. In fact, when in the lock position they stick stick up about as far as the originals in the unlock position, just to give you an idea of the height. The picture posted above is with the pin in the lock position.
I complained to UPR about it and not only did they say they wouldn't correct their mistake, they were pretty rude.
I won't be buying anything else from them. I HATE bad customer service.
They probably sent you the pins for 2004 Mustang. That's what happened to me - I received them from UPR and they wouldn't screw all the way down. So I called UPR and they said they probably sent me 2004 pins, not 2005. They sent me a new set and they screwed all the way down like the originals.

That's what i assumed happened. I remember reading one of your posts back when I got mine. I asked them about it and they said I got the right ones so sending out another set wouldn't do any good. I was so ticked off!
Can you take pictures of your UPR pins in the locked and unlocked position? I want to prove to them they screwed up so they'll send me the right ones.

I did. They made the mistake. Problem is they won't admit it and then fix it.

Yep. Looks the same so I know I got the right ones. I guess UPR just didn't want to make them the way they should have. Thanks Brad.

I just went back and looked at the comparison pictures I took and noticed the UPR locked position is almost the same height as the stock unlocked position. Whoever got the specs when they were initially making them must have gotten confused and thought it was locked.

Here's a new comparsion pic.
