You guys were right. I'm weeks away from getting my 07 and I'm already planning modifications I wasn't thinking about earlier.

Anyway, I need some help. I am taking a hard look at a couple of aftermarket 5 spd. shifter *****. The brand is MOMO. The vendor's website says the following:

"Manual transmission shift *****
All are 14mm universal fit, if a 14mm box wrench can fit over the lever, these shift ***** will too."

Here are my questions:

1. Will this **** fit the standard GT 5 spd. stick?

2. Will this **** work for either a Saleen or Steeda short-throw shifter?

As always, thanks for the continuing help. I would particularly appreciate some input from someone who has bought and installed a MOMO shift ****.

 

The stock shifter ****/handle threads are 12Mx1.25. The 14M will be just a tad big, but if there's an allen adjustment to tighten it, it should work. Can't say for the Saleen or Steeda shifters.

 

Do these MOMO shifters come with some form of adapters? In my mind, either the fit is perfect or forget it.

Does any one out there have one of these MOMO shifters on a 05 or 06 GT 5 spd. ? What type of shifter do you have? Stock? Steeda? Saleen? Hurst?

 

I got a Hurst T-handle, universal metric and retapped one of the inserts with a 12x1.25 tap that I got from Amazon.com...but then I got a Hurst shifter and had a hell of a time getting the Locktited insert out and retapping one of the remaining inserts to 3/8 x 16 SAE theads.

 

The Momo **** won't thread on--it will use plastic adapters to fill the space, then it is cinched down with allen head screws (3 if I remember right). It holds nice and secure, but the threads on your shifter get slightly mangled.
