5.25 Component System in 6 x 8 Plate

I searched with no results on this one.

Has anyone installed a 5.25" Component System in the front 6x8 door speaker location without cutting holes in the A-pillar, etc to accommodate them? I do NOT want to make any new holes.
I know they make adapter plates to accommodate the mid and tweeter and then fit in a 6 x 8 speaker hole, I just can't seem to find any.
Does anyone know of any adapter plates or the speaker hole dimensions, screw hole locations to cut my own.

I used these... http://www.bostonacoustics.com/car/c...product_id=264

They're component quality plate system with a 6.5" driver. Just had to do a little dremel work on the factory speaker bracket to get them in the doors.

I appreciate the link, but I already have the speakers (Infinity) and just need to figure out how to mount them.
I think I might have found a solution. Does anyone KNOW if these will work or can be modified to fit? METRA 82-5601

Yea they will work. I used them to install the infinity kappa 5.25 speakers. Only problem you'll have is getting the tweaters to fit properly. I ended up using silicone sealant to seal them directly to the plate and it worked great. Otherwise you will need to cut and dill to make use of the tweeter adapters.

Awesome, thanks. That is the same setup I am using Infinity Kappa 50.7CS ? Did you replace the rears and if so what speakers did you use there ?

I used the Kappa 572.5 (5x7). Had them as the front speakers in my old 97 mustang.
One thing you will notice is that the components won't really sound all that awesome until you replace the stock shaker head unit. The stock equilizer settings and lower power of the shaker doesn't cut it with the 5.25 components. Once I put in my alpine head unit and got it adjusted it sounded way better.

Yea I am doing the Upgrade in installments if you will Speakers - Head Unit - Amps - Subs
Next on the list is HU I am trying to determine if I want Nav or not. I really don't travel much so the NAV would just be a FUN thing to have.
Going with either the Alpine IVA-W200 or the ECLIPSE AVN5435.
I have had Alpine in the past and have had nothing but great experiences with them, but I hear a lot of people swearing by Eclipse.
I want to add Satellite radio and possibly iPod.
Any Pros/Cons ??

I like the Alpine user interface better. I could not figure out the Eclipse UI without instructions, which is a letdown considering its a graphical interface. The Alpine is more intuitive, and better looking as well. Eclipse certainly doesn't lack quality otherwise though.

I wanted a navi unit as well, but settled on a video only unit because if I really want navi, I can just get a $600 Tomtom which can go with me anywhere. Until then Thomas Guides work just fine.

I bought a sheet of ABS plastic from www.partsexpress.com and cut my own adapters out for my MB Quart 5.25" and 1" tweeters. Probably about the same prices as the prefab ones but sometimes the mounting surface of some speakers will not be standard 5.25 openings. I have two different sets of MB Quart 5.25" speakers and the mounting hole diameters are different due to one set has a polymer basket and the old set has a stamped basket.
