Yet ANOTHER wheel question

So I read a few pages into the threads here regarding wheels, and I'm a little backwards on the terminology- could anyone sort of spell out what everything means, and any synonyms (for instance is backspacing the same as rear spacing, etc...) I only ask as I'm trying to find out if a certain wheel will fit an '07 GT, and I'm not up on wheel/tire lingo.
.
.
.
Oh, I should probably post the wheel I'm looking at- it's the Cragar Soft 8 397 series- it's a steel wheel, with all sorts of 17" dimensions (I'm not looking to get a bigger wheel, just a different one). There's a chart of the different sizes of this wheel here, with lug patterns, "rear spacing" (backspacing?) and other dimensions. Link HERE
Thanks for any and all assistance!

Here links about rims tech: http://www.1010tires.com/tech.asp or https://www.rsracing.com/tech-wheel.html#backspace or the small diagram at bottom to explain

You will also find an wheel offset calculator to choose new rims.

Just some datas to know about s-197 Stang:
  • stock V6 rims: 16" X 7" offset 39mm
  • stock GT rims: 17" X 8" offset 45mm
  • option rims: 18" X 8.5 offset 50mm
all these rims with a bolt circle of 5 x 4.5"

I hope it will help you...
