I saw this on eBay (yes, I know it's for a V6):

...and I got to thinking. I know there are problems fitting the GT grille into the V6's front fascia, but has anyone tried to mount the entire bumper? Or does the GT bumper have completely different mounting points than the V6? How hard would the necessary modification(s) be, if any? I'm yet another one of those poor slobs who really wants to jam fog lights in there! :-) I've seen Mr Wick's kit, but I don't like the smaller size of the fogs.

I also saw this listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...sspagename=WDVW
The guy claims to have devised a totally foolproof kit to do the conversion. Has anyone heard anything or purchased one of these kits?

yes...it definitely will.....I had the GT front bumper cover with the GT grill fascia installed on my v6 last week...it fits perfect....I did buy a takeoff from Saleen but was allowed to pick the takeoff in best shape at the dealer. It fits perfectly. I paid $400 for the parts and then paid $300 to have it installed. They also gave me back my original bumper and grill with the pony. When I get a chance I'll post a pic. I am very very pleased with the results. I could have ordered a brand new GT bumper cover but the cost was 4oo plus another 250 to paint it.

Very positive comments so far.....

btw...the bumper I bought was in next to perfect shape....a few nicks here and there but they are goin to buff them out for me when we get some sunshine down here in the Peach state....

good luck....go for it....

John--

Thanks so much for your fast and informative reply! I'm so thrilled to hear that someone has done this successfully and is happy with the results. I would love to see a pic when you get a chance.

Sis, actually... but I'll let it slide. ;-)

Funny aside -- whenever I wash my car, the whole neighborhood seems to wake up and come out to wash their cars too. Last week two of my friends came over to wash THEIR cars while I did mine. What is it with that, lol?

Ok, off to work...

Man you threw away some $$$$. I bought a take off GT bumper for $150.00 (brand new that still had the protective sticker on it) and installed it myself. (mine was defective from factory and then repainted and never was satisfied with the end result)

The installation took about one hour. That one hour included taking the original GT bumper off and installing the new. I have never done such thing and it was extremely easy!! If you know how to use a screwdriver you are in great shape!! LOL
