Licensed by Shelby must be expensive, it's also ugly.

There is a retro conversion for the C5 Corvette that looks really cool. I hoped for one for a 05-09 GT for a long time. I wanted to buy the Mystery 8 hood/nose kit, haven't decided completely. I came across this conversion earlier and it definetly peeked my intrest.

I don't think it's ugly. It's a pretty fair representation of the '69-'70 Shelby imho. I think they should paint the area directly around the headlights dark to blend with the grille, but other than that I don't think it's 1/2 bad. Gawdawful expensive though.

I sent them an email asking them if they would have it available to the "do-it-yourselfer" or if a car could be sent to them and they perform the conversion, but I didnt get a reply. All signs are pointing to, "I cant have one"

well if you really think about it they are taking your old mustang body off, adding all of the sheet metal (or fiberglass) to your car then putting it back on OR they are starting with a new body entirely then the price for labor and paint. Yeah i could see that price.

It's cool, but for $47,999.00, I can get a new GT500 and keep my '05 GT.
