Where can I get a Pre-Painted GT/CS Hood Scoop?

I think I want to get a scoop finally now that I have the flush mount louvers on. I just think it gives it a meaner look out the windsheild.

Anyways, do any of you know if there are any online vendors that sell the GT/CS scoop already painted? I would really rather not bring it to my dealer because they will charge me an arm and a leg. I will probably bring it to them to get it installed though.

I was thinking about getting the Roush scoop from Wheelskin but I just don't like the look of the Roush one.

As far as I know, nobody makes one after market like the FORD one. Last I knew they wanted around $300 plus paint. -----Goodluck

Where are you located? I'm in Houston, TX, and I'd swap hoods with you (I have the factory GT/CS hood scoop), but my car's white, so you'd have to have the hood painted. Also note that the typical small gap around the edges of the hood scoop isn't present in mine, because I took it off, gently bent it for shape, and reinstalled it with 3M body molding tape on the inside, so it doesn't collect crap under it when it rains etc.
Even swap. S197.Mustang@hotmail.com

Try E-bay or just buy a Roush one or a GTAP hood scoop. I thought the GTAP and the CS hood sccop were the same???

They are. The GT/CS doesn't come with a hood scoop per se; just a l;ike a regular GT, he GT Appearance Package can be added to a GT/CS. The GTAP option on a new car is like $400, and includes the polished tips on the exhaust, the hood scoop, and the engine cover. By itself, the GTAP hood scoop is ~$300 from the stealerships. That's why I was offering a swap if he were local...by the time he has it painted/installed, it would cost more than just swapping/painting mine.

Here is one for $210.00. Scroll down through the items to find it.

You might also try getting a hold of KC by phone and ask him what price he can get it to you for.

Hey thanks guys, all of this is good info.

I think though that I'm gonna skip the scoop and just save for what I really want--the GT500 front and rear fascia and hood (NO cobra emblems though).

I love how aggressive it looks so I figure why spend all that money on a scoop when I could put it towards the GT500 stuff...cause that will be really expensive.
