What's The Safest Way to Remove Decals?

I'll be peeling off some decal stripes this weekend. What works the best, hair dryer and start picking at a corner? I'm reluctant to try any solvents. Anybody who has done this, I'd appreciate hearing your experience.

Thanks.

Instead of a hair dryer, I'd pick up a heat gun. I don't know if you have a Harbor Freight near you, but I think I gave $10-$15 for mine. It works great.

Joe,
In past I've done the hair dryer thing, Harbor Frieght heat gun would be handy later too I'm thinking. And I used 3M Adhesive & Wax Remover from Napa. A friend told me about it that uses it all the time on his race car, were decals swicth out regularly with sponsorships. It worked great with no damage.

Thanks
