When I raise my RKSport California Dream Hood, I can hear water rushing to the back of the hood, between the upper and lower layers. I don't know how it got there. I don't spray water directly into the scoops, and I don't remember any big rains lately. Will the water hurt the fiberglass or cause other problems? Will it just evaporate? Or should I drill a tiny hole at each corner to allow for drainage? (It's always up front until I raise the hood.) Anyone else have this problem?

I have the same hood and I hear the same sound after I wash my car. I don't spray water directly into the scoops.

The only time I hear it is the 1st time I raise the hood after washing the car. I have no idea where it goes, never see any water exiting the hood. After raising it the 1st time, I can close the hood, raise it back up as many times as I want and nothing - dead silence.

The area around the air filter is always dry as a bone, which is good, no worry of the C&L sucking in any water.

drill holes if you're concerned about the water. ...... you wouldn't want it to sit there for periods of time.

well that sucks...... I'm still gettin' that hood anyways.

I had driven through lots of rain since I got the hood but only noticed that recently - strangely enough I think it was after I installed the REAR Eibachs and hadn't put the fronts in yet.

But anyway, yeah I have heard this a few times but not after washing the car - only after rainstorms if the car has been outside - usually on an incline with the nose pointed up.

Filter is nice and dry though.

The ones I say on ebay were defective, even though the auction did not mention it. Supposedly, one washer squirter hole was misaligned. They went cheap enough to get it fixed, though. I got mine directly from RKS for $695, but in a special promotion for free shipping. Before that promotion, RKS listed shipping for me at $245!
Ordering from a middle man can add delays, as the hood must be shipped more than once. I tried at first to get it from a supplier, who got it from another supplier, who got it from RKS. It was really no one person's fault, but it cost me time. I eventually gave up, cancelled my order, and went with RKS. If you're not in a hurry, you might find it cheaper. Plan on pins; you'll need them.
