wanna order the Cervini;s 67 hood, have ????
I have decided on the cervini hood that looks like the 67 shelby pn 1166. In the magazine, it offers a upgrade kit to make the CAI a ram air function.
1. Who had tried this??
2. Want to go with a set of real hood pins (what brand works best and does not rust)
3. Can I use my hood lift kit. for it???

I don't have an answer to the 1st two, but the hood lift question is iffie. Check w/cervini. I've been looking for a new hood and almost everyone I've talked to said hood struts w/ fiberglass is a bad idea
I have the FRPP pins , they're stainless steel which resists rust about the best. I don't have them , but you might check with Steeda about their hood lift kit. The kit connects to the hood hinge itself and doesn't require drilling any more holes in the hood ...
I'm not a fan of Fiberglas hoods. They are twice as heavy as our stock hoods, can not be used with hood struts, and when you drill a hole in them for hood pins or any other reason, you wind up with loose fibers around the edges.
If I were to change the hood, I'd go with an aluminum one like the CDC Foose hood that is like the 69 hoods, or a CF hood. However, I'm having problems justifying the expense. The aluminun hoods and CF hoods are about $900-$1,000 and then you have to spend another $500-$600 to get them painted. For that kind of money, I can pay for a lot of performance mods.
