guys its really simple to install the VVME kit

Plug and play everyhing and your left with one connector with a 3 prong connector on it that goes nowhere. Cut this connector off. Splice this connector into one of the STOCK headlight connector wires. I installed it on the pass side becausethewire was too short to goto the drivers side

Splice the three wires from the VVME kit into the 3 wires from the Stock Headlight connector and your all set

also i did not use the brackets to mount the ballasts. i used #M auto double sided tape and mounted then behind the headlamp housing themselves on the sheet metal of the car

My kit sure as hell was NOT plug and play. I wrote VVME after seeing your post. They claim the plug I got (three thick lugs like an old sealed beam or H4) is correct for H13's because "some H13's have H4 style plug"

I did an online image search on H13. I can find DOZENS of pics of H13 bulbs. Not a one of the has anything but the standard H13 oval connector with very narrow pins.

IMHO the guys at VVME are either poorly informed or full of bull. Probably both.

I am finishing up the install on my 00 Vic. I decided not to use their wiring and re-did it. I broke the tab on each locking ring for the 9007. I suspect it was because the HID capsules weren't quite designed for 9007s. I won't be buying another VVME kit.

that's funny,i would buy another kit from the in a heart beat if i had the funds. i dont know what you guys are doing with your kits but birds quick write up is all you need for the install. just remember his colors for the bi kits and your good. Drove from NC to NY and they looked beautiful. it's a waste if you guys dont follow through with this project. If anyone has a 8k kit and wants to sell it ill pick it up

All I did was follow the instructions. They weren't made quite to spec and snapped my locking rings. This doesn't apply to the 9008s, but seeing how shoddy the quality was, I won't be buying a kit for the Mustang. I'll look elsewhere and even consider the OEM HID retrofit.

Here are some pics:
1st is 3200K Halogen vs 4300K HID
2nd is a pair of 4300K HIDs

Metroplex,

I just ordered a 9007 4300K kit from Xenondepot.com for my '97 Lincoln Continental. This will be my seconds kit from them (H11 kit on my wife's GX470 and the kit is perfect). I'll try and post pics once it's installed. Only drawback is I lose the high beams.

I've been hesitant in ordering the kit for my '07 GT because the 07's and on no longer have the bulb shield from the factory. I'm thinking of retrofitting the 08 OEM HID lights if its not too expensive.

The 07 GT electrical system seems to rely on current draw from the low beams through the BEC. I suspect this is so the SJB knows your low beams are OK. If you splice in the relay to power the HIDs, then the SJB might think your low beams are out. The stock high beams and foglamps use relayed power feeds.

I may upgrade to HIDs for the GT's fog lamps. The OEM HIDs are $800 a piece and there will be some re-wiring required.

All us novices really need is a good set of thorough step by step directions, and some good pics of what goes where and exactly which wire splices into what. Would somebody please step up and help with this?

So thanks to the excellent writeup from the link in post #31 I finally got the VVME HIDs in tonight! Massive PIA to do and was incredibly time consuming (my lack of electrical know-how was killing me), but if I can do it anyone can. My impression so far is that they are amazing and unbelievably better than the stock halogens. The high and low beams work perfectly. I really didn't know there would be this much difference, but with the light output from these I'd never go back. Only problem now is that my fogs look weak and yellow by comparison so I might have to do it all over again...

Anyways, if anyone has any questions about anything related to the install let me know and I can definitely help you out now that I'm a seasoned vet

The VVME Kit uses a Philips knock-off ballast that was originally designed for 2nd gen HID capsules. The built-in ignitors send 23kV to the HIDs, and then the ballasts maintain 85V to power the HIDs. The capsules included are most likely rebased D2R which is rated for 2800 lumens. Stock H13s are 1000 lumens.

Don't switch the headlamps ON/OFF rapidly. They say that if you turn on the HIDs, turn them on for at least 5 minutes. Then shut them down for at least 5 minutes so the salts return to a powdery form. if you hook up the HIDs to your remote keyless, you will reduce their life.

The HIDs have a lab rated life of 2500 hours, but those are the OEM capsules and not the Chinese knock-offs.

Not to hijack this thread but I create one that summarize the install of the VVME Headlights AND fogs:

http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=74296

My threads adds info for people with DRL (Canada) and installation of fogs

I looked at the front of the ballast while installing and it said Hella Technology, just some food for thought...

They look great.

Interesting, I just tried to buy another kit from VVME and Flashplus (ebay) and all the auctions for Flashplus on ebay are gone. Also VVME will not complete a buy transaction, get email error.

Something going on with this HID Vendor?
