My front bumper has two nasty holes that my dealer drilled for a plate. (bought off the lot) I found this decal thats 9"x4" and the holes in the bumper are 7" apart. So this should cover it. My stang is silver so I thinK the decal should be silver as well to give it that ghost appearance rather than having it jump out at you. Let me know whatcha tink. or :notnice:

Maybe someone can manufacture a bumper filler piece (paintable), to cover the holes in the bumpers, like the 87 Saleens had.

Looks good. But I think the better thing to do would be to swing by your local paint shop and see if they could fill and touch up those little holes. If not, the decals are pretty awesome

Or you could do like I did and go to your local Pep Boys, Kragen, AutoZone, etc. and check out the various plastic trim fasteners......I found some that fit the screw holes perfectly with a very small head and no screw slots.....fit right in and you hardly notice them at all - much better than seeing the holes. My GT is black and they are gloss black - so it was a perfect match - but you could easily paint the trim screws to match.

Good luck!

Have you thought of using a mid-size plate like this?

Personally, I'd rather try to get rid of the holes off if possible. A body shop should be able to cover up and repaint the holes for not too much.

I ordered mine and asked the dealer about leaving the front plate hardware off the car when they prep it. Normally, the law says they need to put it on. However, he told me if I am willing to sign a waiver form stipulating that I'm aware of the law and that I would put the equipment on myself, they'd leave it off when I take delivery and give me the parts should I choose/need to install it in the future.

John,
I did look at some plates like that but on the GT they just stick out like they don't belong. The v6 has a bumber indentation so they look more like they belong there. If the decal dosn't work out I'm ony out a couple of bucks and I wil try the trim plugs. If all else fails I just have them filled and touched up. Then with my luck I'll get pulled over for not having a front plate attached.

Dan - if you do get pulled over and a fix it ticket - get a couple of "L" brackets from Home Depot and temporarily attach the plate via screws under the front edge of the bumper...
