Has anyone been able to install the "twist type" hood locks on the stock 05 hood? I have seen pictures for an aftermarket hood (Fang?) with the twist locks and it looks great. I just think the twist type locks are a more modern, cleaner look for the 05. After what I have read, it appears that hood pins are more than just a cosmetic thing for the hood but a requirement with hood flexing at speed.

I played with a set of those on the hood of a 73 Mach1 yesterday. They were unique and look ok but since I already have thr FRPP pins I guess I'll have to say my vote is for the flip ring style.
No lanyards though, wifey said they made it look like it had nose rings :bang:

i want to do the same however they require a large hole in the hood around 2" so cutting it can't be easy and if you're off, I don't even want to think about it.

I'm curious if I could find a shop that would be willing to install given its not an every day common event to drill 2 large holes in your hood. As a matter of fact, I'm not sure how I could find a shop that I'm willing to let drill into the hood like that. The thought of a screw up makes me want to
I don't know if the twist locks would work or not without seeing them in person and comparing with an 05 mustang. I was really hoping someone had successfully installed them on this board somewhere and could share the success story. I don't have my car yet but I suppose when it shows I'll be the test subject and give it a try. I know I'm not the only one who likes the look of this type hood lock.

The other thing is the hood has to go into the receptor lower plate pretty sqaurly to insure the latch cathes. I'm sure it can be done I'm just not sure I want to be the first one doing it.

Pretty sure the guys over at Fang are doing the twist locks on their car with the shaker. There are some pics posted on one of the shaker threads.
