The main difference between the two hoods is the width of the middle support piece and the outside edges. Mine is the Super Snake version #54 which has narrow pieces, and the center piece stays underneath the vent. The other one #53 is the KR hood where the pieces are wider and the center piece extends out past the vent. Other than that they're the same.

 

Thats what I kinda thought, but sometimes its hard to tell from pics.
