Rich, looks great man! Couple of questions:

Did you have them finished or buy them that way?

Did you change valve cover gaskets?

What did they say to torque the bolts to?

Was there a thread where they explained process to change out?

Outstanding job. Looks 1000% better...

nice subtle change. i cant believe how cruddy our stock covers look. it is really noticable when you have them side-by-side like that.

still waiting for something like this to come out for the 3v:

Haha! It was fun as always working with you two. I thought that Rich's new sticker said "Brenspeed's Bit**" though.

I had them powdercoated locally. I got a set of stockers sent to me for free and paid $100 to have them coated. I'm sending mine to another guy who can do the same thing. It's hard to tell in the pictures but they are powdercoated polished aluminum to try and match the tanks.

The original gaskets were fine and the bolts are supposed to be torqued to 89 in lbs.

This coming week the shaker gets installed and the hood gets painted. After that I need to take a mod rest.

BRENSPEED "FANBOY" At least that's better than what you were calling me yesterday.

Looks great. I'm too lazy to take the time to take mine out and paint them. Ha

How long did it take you to remove the covers?

As another "Old Fart" - I always enjoy seeing what you have done to your car - really looks great! Of course, the mineral grey makes the "difference"

Mineral Grey is the rarest color in my area, I have only seen 1 in 3 years, I love that color on the Mustang, very sexy but understated and it really looks good at sunset.

+1

Looks good!

They are the ugliest things stock under the hood. The next thing are the stock manifolds!

I also had mine set out for powder coating. I just planned it when I was going to be out of town for a week. Removed them, dropped them off, vacation, got home picked em up and installed.

It kind of made the part about vacation that sucks (going home) A little easier.

But nice idea on getting a set from eBay. Do you have an ongoing thread to pass them on to the next person? I remember something similar to that a while back.

I didn't get them off ebay. We have a set being exchanged on another board. I'm done so my stockers are heading to Iowa tomorrow. I paid $20 for shiping, $100 for the powdercoating and afew bucks for 2 six packs of beer for my buddies and I.
