I would recomend Bridgestone s-03 poles, Michelin pilot sport ps2's, or yokohamo AVS sport (these are VERY good deals). Also a notable would be BF's KDW-2

This is the second person I've seen with 275/40/17s on an 8" rim.(Wild stray is the other) I did not think this was recommended. Everything I've read indicates that 255mm is kind of the outer limit for the stock rim. What are the pros and cons of this, cause 275s certainly look better? (also not trying to highjack this thread. Just curious.)
He isn't running stock wheels, if I am not mistaken he has the 03-04 Mach 1 wheels.
I realize that, Mellow. If I'm not mistaken, though, the Machs are also 8" rims, so I'm still curious about the pros and cons of this set up.

I'm running those Bridgestone Fuzions that were mentioned above....Put 275/40/17 on the rears....Great street/track tire you can grab at Firestone for a decent price....rated up to 168+ mph as well, per my buddy at Firestone.....

John
did you put 275 on the original rim?

When I have a choice I will not buy French made or own, unfortunately sometimes French parts are part of an American package. For her birthday I got my wife a new Cannondale it killed me that it had French rims, it kills me the Mustang’s transmission is French. At least I have a choice with any aftermarket items I get. I’ll be getting Studded Coopers for winter and Goodyear for summer. Remember who our allies are we are at war.

God Bless our troops!

I am experimenting with tire height on my car and I am running 275's right now, but they will not be my permanent tires/wheels. They do perform very well on the car though with the stock rims. I am changing wheels, tires and gears around shortly.

Well after talking to some guys at America's Tire they recommended that I go with Kumho Ecsta ASX 255/50-17. Nice looking tire that has high marks for performance and handling. $300 bucks mounted and balanced with my stock tires as trade in. I like non directional tires which these are. Here's a picture of the tire.
