I wonder how hard it will be to swap the Shelby Cobra GT500 front end/bumper onto the GT. I hope its a perfect fit, I like the slanted uprights better

The gt500 front end is great looking but gonna set you back alot of cash would be my guess because its Ford Parts...you will need a full front clip basically, fogs, main bumper with main grill, headlamps, lower valence, front chin spoiler, and lower valence grill but its HOT!

also...anyone want to please chop this car into all black for me? Thanks ~Trent

I am more curious about the chin spoile and rear bumber myself, I like the rear bumper being smooth all the way down with the strakes. and that chin spoiler is the best looking one along with the CDC chin spoiler(not the agressive)

I still don't like the looks of the car "smiling". Sure the grills are big but the smile takes away from the aggressive look.

I was wondering about something similar. For all those looking for a ducktail, could the trunk lid from the GT500 be swapped on to a GT? Not sure how "SHELBY" lettering is attached.

I personally don't like the black trim pieces around the bottom of the car. I'd get those painted the body color, and continue the stripes down on the front and back. Other than that, that may just be the most beautiful car I have ever seen. Makes me think about leaving my current woman.

I'm sure you could. But, you'd have to get the GT500 rear fenders as well. That ducktail there is molded into the fender. But that is definitely the best ducktail IMO. May be worth the money.

I dont think the rear spoiler is molded in, if you look at the closeups it looks to be one whole piece. I could be wrong, here is a link to some close up shots.

Mike, I was just about to come back and edit that. I think I saw a pic of an earlier GT500 ducktail where it was actually molded on the rear fenders. But the GT500 ductail appears to only be on the decklid. Thanks for catching that though

No worries, I know there is that pic floating around of the silver with red stripes that has it molded in, that one looks the best because of the way the spoiler leans back a little but I Am sure that is pretty expensive to have done.

EDIT: this one?

Sorry for posting links, every time I try to save a pic from here and post it I cant get it to work.

I agree 100% with that. Never been a big fan of the concept. Looks like the front fascia has a shy smile. I liked the rear end with the wider tail lights though. Too bad they didn't keep that on the Shelby. All in all I think prefer the GT with it's angry look and its big fog light... I think it's great though that the Shelby looks really different from the GT. If you can afford that beast you deserve to show it off. That's why I wouldn't put the Shelby fascia on a GT. I think that would be like buying really expensive Cobra badges for a standard GT. Just my opinion...

could someone chop that and make the car silver with either a slightly lighter silver or gunmetal stripes? I think it just looks kinda smiley because of the red and white, if it was black I think it would look more aggressive just my 2 cents though ~Trent
