im almost done with my super snake convertion all i need is the hood now. after that im getting the stripes painted. my mustang is black and is getting red stipes, so that it matches my gt500 black/red interior. could somebody help me out and tell me the stripe and gap sizes please?

 

im not sure what size stripe belongs on the super snake, but i would put 12 inch stripes with either a 2inch gap or a 3inch gap....3inch gap might look better. when you get the stripes painted you should also do a pin stripe all along the side of the stripes. that in my opinion would add a great finishing touch to the stripes. Not sure if the pin striping would be something your interested with your conversion.

This is off the timeline up top 2008 Super Snake. You can see they go from the exact middle of the H to he exact middle of the B. Then the gapping to the outside pin stripes. Sholud be easy to measure on your car using this photo as a guide. GT500's have Shelby letters on the back I assume.

 

Gap sizes? for the pin stripes? As far as I know the super snake stripes are one fat stripe going down the middle, with a pinstripe on each side. The dimensions on the older shelbys (dont know about the new) I think were 1" pinstripe, 1"gap, and 14" wide stripe in middle.

 

Well, they DO have SHELBY letters on the back...
But I don't think they are going to help.

I drew mine up back in 2005. I wanted to go wider than original because it fit the body style better. I went with 20" center (or 22", can't quite remember) and 1" "pin" stripes, with 1" between.

 

awesome, i stand corrected. i was guessing it was dual stripes with pin striping. I havnt looked at a super snake picture in a while, i couldnt remember how it was set up. Now i know

 

I put one on my car. I guessed at the dimensions off of the rear SS picture from above. The stripe I did is 14" wide, 1" border, 1" outer stripe like mentioned above. I think I got it close.

I believe that the Shelby Super Snake is a 14" center stripe. I remember looking it over at Mustang Alley last year and my car was parked just behind it and noticed it was quite a bit smaller than my stripe.

Compare the license plate frame in post #3 and #9 to my car which has 1" pin stripe, 1" space, 18" center stripe:

 

It is for a fact 14" center 1" gap 1" stripe.
