I laugh at people that use studded tires. Unless you live in Alaska, forget it. Just get some Michelin X-Ice tires and you'll be fine. My car is great in the snow with these tires. I live in NH and I can't even find tire chains anywhere for sale.

The only place I have ever seen studded tires is in Portland Oregon where it never snows. People out there are retarded.

When I was growing up in Michigan in the late 60s and early 70s, there were a lot of studded tires around. You wouldn't believe how badly they tore up the roads. (And Mich roads didn't need any more tearing-up!)
They are virtually useless unless you find yourself in that rare circumstance of driving on ice. (In which case, you shouldn't be out anyway. )

No added benefit on snow whatsoever. :notnice:

You'll do better to use good snow tires like dustindu4 says. And the highways will stay in a little better condition for summer fun.

Maybe people are idiots to use them in new hampshire, but there are places other than alaska where they help a lot. Try a Calgary winter.

I start seeing them around Christmas on pickup trucks but with the new treads I do not see them as often. I ran them when I had a P/U along with weight in the bed because of traction issue.

This will be my first winter with the 05 some I'm curious how the more balanced mustang will handle. In my 68 fastback which was my daily driver throughout the 80's and my dad's daily driver from 68 till I turned 16, we never put anything other than all season radials on it and two sandbags in the trunk in the winter. Which reminds me. I'm painting the interior now and trying to get the bits of sand out of the trunk as well.

uh, retard here. yeah, it does snow here occasionally, but most people use them for the black ice we get nailed with every winter out here. lots of hills in portland too.

you must also realize that we have a lot of transplanted californians here in oregon who don't know how to drive in even RAIN!
