Stripes: has anyone used auto trim design?

http://www.autotrimdesign.net/detail...48__25149.html

just wondering if anyone has used them for stripes.

they look really nice and they have a whole lot more colors than bsm, plus the stripes are closer together more like a shelby. they sent me some color samples upon request: two different metallic golds and a silver. i really want to match the gold on a gt-h and i think i may have found a winner. i just have to find a gt-h in person somewhere and check to see if the samples match.

I was going to use them but decided to paint instead of use vinyl. I was REALLY impressed with their customer response in regards to my questions and with there offers to adjust orders as needed.

If I ever use vinyl, I would definitely give them a shot. And, I would highly recommend anyone at least talking with them that is in the market for exterior graphics.

A fiend/co-worker of mine used them for his Grabber Orange BOSS tribute. I have BSM stripes. His stripes are thinner material made by Avery, the same company that makes those plastic label strips that you punch letters on. My stripes are 3M. Also, Auto trim says if you wax your stripes it voids the warranty. Very good looking and fitting kit on his car. I wouldn't hesitate to use them. Wish I had a picture of it for you.

Nick, how much research have you done on vinyl besides finding a good dealer with the stripes you like? Personally I have chosen to hold off on stripes until I get them painted mainly because of the heat down here. Vinyl tends to shrink and I feel I will end up having to get them painted later anyway.

vinyl stripes are good for a little while, but your going to get them painted anyway,LOL down the road that is. So just save your self some money and do it all at once. Once I put the stripes on I couldnt even imagine it without them. I just got mine painted on after bsm's faded badly in a years time. It was only 450 bucks and guy did a great job. cost me more than that to put on the vinyl. Good luck but I would get it painted if I were you.

I would like to see some photos if possible. I was thinking of doing the same thing to my car with the same company.

my main concern here is the 1 inch gap that the kit from auto trim design provides. i really dont like the huge gap between the bsm stripes.... but now i am wondering how much stripes would cost to be painted on and how i would go about getting the exact color gold that i want.

i was going to try to apply the vynal on my own because people around here charge like 400 to install or something like that.

I got the kit from Autotrimdesign, but the installer (Alex @ WestCoast Customs) said he wouldn't recommend it because it's very thin... After one year though, I am still happy with them and they still look good, but my car is garaged about 90 % of the time...

Mine are the 10" stripes with 2" gap...

yeah, they sent me three little samples so i can tell what the thickness is. does anyone know the reason why thicker vinyl is better than thinner? is there scientific evidence behind this? i would think that the thinner the better because it looks more like paint. anyone have any real insight? not just speculation?

(As I was told) the thicker will return to its shape when stretched during applying... The Autotrimdesign won't, so if you stretch it too much you might end up with more than 10" stripes... That's why my front bumper looks kinda messed up...

Here's a follow up, and you're not going to like it. Hunted down my co-worker with the BOSS stripes today, (we work at a huge company) turns out he rear-ended a Jeep Cherokee on the way home the other day on the freeway. Front facia, grills, and hood are trashed. So sorry, no pics. He has already ordered painted take off parts. He ordered a no-scoop hood and the CDC shaker. The BOSS stripes will still be used so I'll get some pics up when it's done, whenever that is.
