Ok i am looking at the cervinis body kits and i have always wanted the Shaker system for my car but i have the factory plenum cover and did not want to cut the huge opening for the scoop. Now that i want a body kit i am seriously thinking about the B2 kit that comes with the a CDC shaker w/hood precut over the M1 kit that only has the non-functional scoop, here are some pics

what i want to know is it worth the extra $600 just to have the shaker? Does it even move with reving and i mean a noticeable movement? Also does anyone have a link on how to cut the shroud on the shaker?

And if i do get the kit i am going to use the stipe on the hood like the M1 kit

 

IMO:

Pros:

• looks cool
• better than having a completely non-functional scoop
• does move with the engine- not a big, big movement but it can be seen moving

Cons:

• more expensive
• doesn't add any real performance gain (although a fake scoop doesn't either)
• limits your choice of a power-adder down the road (example: much much easier for me to do a Vortech blower than a Saleen, Whipple, etc.)

Would I do it again? If I was staying naturally aspirated, yes. If I knew I was going to add a blower, then maybe not..... maybe just go with a new hood instead and a different blower of choice.

 

Oh one more thing: that B2 kit is pretty darn cool, except for the snowplow chin spoiler.

 

The M1 has the same snowplow...

Even with FI it just has the "cool" factor. Not too mention it alone gets more comments/thumbs up than all the other modifications I have done combined.

i am planning on doing a whipple down the road but if i go with this kit the whipple will be on hold for a good long while but will still go on the car, but if some one can show my a centri that can scream like a whipple then i might go with that and keep the shaker LOL. And i am not going to use the snowplow i might just use the roush or C-500 front bumper but so far it looks like the B2 is worth the extra $600

 

I was thinking a procharger but it seems Cervinis changed the SC they used to use. The C-500 used to have a 10psi Procharger but just recently they changed over to the 10psi Whipple HO so i do not know anymore

 

I say you want it or you don't. 99% of people that bought the Shaker just knew they wanted it. The M2 or Shaker are both awesome looking it's just up to you to pick which one you want.

 

i want the shaker because it looks awesome and it is a eyecatcher, the only problem i have is upgrading to a SC later on but i think if i do decide that a whipple is what i want i can always swap the hood for the M1 later, now for the other part of my question, has anyone done a write up on how to trim the Shaker shroud

 

Well there is plenty of centri-style blowers such as Vortech, Paxton, and Procharger that are more than capable of keeping up with a Whipple at the track.... don't get me wrong Whipples, Saleen, and Kenne Bell are all AWESOME blowers and will make more torque down low compared to a centri, but at the track if you keep the centris in their powerband they will all run similar times. Good luck with your choice.

 

As far as trimming the shaker shroud, I outlined mine with blue painters tape and then used a Dremel with a circular cutting wheel to cut mine.
