Steering Stops??

Has anyone that has changed their factory 16" or 17" wheels to factory 18" polished, chrome, or black bullitts have to use steering stops as stated on Ford Racing web site.

From Ford Racing web site:

http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=8977

Note: For vehicles with 16" wheels from the factory: -installing 17" x 8" wheels, use steering stop 4R3Z-3932-BA -Installing 18" x 8.5" or 18" x 9.5" wheels, use steering stop 6R3Z-3932-CA
For vehicles with 17" wheels from the factory: -installing 18" x 8.5" or 18" x 9.5" wheels, use steering stop 6R3Z-3932-CA

Just got a reply on my thread from one of the guys. I asked about FRPP SVT wheels. He said no problems with 18" or even 20".

are steering stops what I think they are; something to stop the larger wheel from hitting in the wheel well?

I went from 17" argent bullets to the 18" chrome bullets and did not install the stops. I have no problems at all.

I went to 20's from 17's and I have eibach pro lowering springs. I did not change the stops and have had no issues or rubbing.
