Steeda hoods & hood pins

I am thinking about buying a Steeda cowl hood for my black 06 GT but there is a catch. They recommend hood pins for all of their hoods but I don't like the look of the pins on a street driven car. I noticed the Steeda Q cars at my Ford dealer have these hoods but no pins. Also the hood advertising in the Steeda brochures shows the hoods with and without pins. What is the real story on this? Are the hoods susceptable to lifting without the pins or is it just Steeda covering themselves?

I have the hood pins and can honestly say that it gives me piece of mind to have them and possibly not need them, then need them and not have them... Here are a few pics:

And here is one from interior: (Doesn't obstruct view as much as the pic would make you believe)

About the hood pins

When you put in the hood pins I guess you have to drill holes in the radiator support right? I remember one 2005 GT where they had welded the pins to the support and it looked bad. Nice for a drag car I guess but not for a street machine. Whch way did you do it, drilled and bolted or welded?

The pix look very good by the way.

Mark, you are right about the necessity to drill holes into the support and mine are welded in. (By Steeda) I have to admit though, it does not look bad to me at all. I may be a bit bias but I am also very critical when it comes to my car. If you would like some pics let me know?
