Fantastic!

I know that Steeda makes 2 types - the Functional Cowl Hood and the
Functional Ultra-Light Racing Hood. Which one is yours?

the regular one-I bought mine before they came out with the light weight version. It is about the same weight as the stock hood. The opening in the cowl is only on one side of cowl probably for strength purposes.

Looking sharp guys

So you didn't need hood pins? I thought I read on Steeda's site that you did.
I was planning too anyways. I'm thinking of getting it painted the same redfire as the car, with one stripe down the middle (either gloss or matte black) and perhaps a CDC classic chin spoiler - either black or the same as the body color. Too many decisions right now.

Anyone have a good place to order one? The few places I've seen charge a lot for shipping. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a Steeda distributor near me.

This seemed like a good spot to include the info from Steeda's web site:

Steeda Street Cowl Hood '05-'06
Steeda Street Cowl Hood
307-0012
$499.95

Steeda's 2 step cowl induction hood will give your Mustang a bold, muscular look and let people know this is no ordinary grocery getter. This hood features a functional cowl vent for reduced underhood temperatures, has a aluminum reinforced latch area and is a direct bolt on to the factory hinges. Hood comes in a smooth gelcoat finish for easy painting and comes with windshield washer and prop rod provisions.

Steeda 05/06 Ultralite Full Cowl Induction Hood
Steeda Ultralite Full Cowl Induction Hood
307-0011
$629.95

Steeda's 2 step cowl induction hood will give your Mustang a bold, muscular look and let people know this is no ordinary grocery getter. This original race version is 9lbs lighter than our 307-0012 street hood and features fully functional cowl induction instead of just a single vent for the ultimate improvement in aerodynamics and reduced underhood temperatures. This hood has a aluminum reinforced latch area and is a direct bolt on to the factory hinges. Hood comes in a smooth gelcoat finish for easy painting and comes with windshield washer and factory prop rod provisions.

Any reason why black3v's hood looks more smooth in the center front and the one in the first pic in the post looks to have a pronouced crease that leads all the way to the front center of the hood?

Optical Illusion???

Also, why does Steeda's web site say Hood pins are mandatory on all cowl hoods, however their photos don't show hood pins installed??

I agree it is just the angle the picture was taken at that creates a smoother looking finish. As for the hood pins the photos that are posted on their site are consiberable old and were posted prior to them installing the pins. In other words I believe it just a matter of them being a little lazy when it comes to updating their website.

Trust me when I say if you are thinking about getting the hood I seriously recommend the pins after driving on the interstate and witnessing first hand how light the hood really is.

No I don't hear any kind of difference between my hood and the factory hood.
