Those are a bit too pronounced for my taste. I ordered a pair for the rear from Ford used on the GT500. They are smaller although not as effective.

The splashgaurds are hardly noticeable on darker cars, they show up much more in the pictures than they do in natural light. The GT500 gaurds for the rear are great, very stealthy and you cant beat the price.

They look pretty interesting. I like the fact that they can be removed easily. They would be great for car shows!

Those splash guards are great. I just got mine last week. On in 30 seconds, off in 5 seconds. They provide a lot of coverage, too.

I just talked to my dealer partsman today. He is ordering me two sets of the GT 500 splash guards for around $25 - both pair are made for the rear but I am using the extra pair for the front. My dealer is going to drill an extra hole on top of the front plastic wheelwell liner to install them on the front. They may only provide minimal protection but they look great and are better than nothing. He also tells me that Ford sprays some sort of protective coating behind the wheels for protection.

Over the weekend I tried installing a set of GT500 splash guards on my Bullitt. I had previously purchased them to go with the GT500/Cali Spec rear bumper cover that was previously installed on my former 05 Mustang.

When I clipped the little spring hook into place and lined up the holes, the splash guards stuck well out from the sides of the car (much more pronounced than when installed on my 05) and a corner of the opening in the middle of the guard where that spring clip is became exposed.

So how is everybody installing them? Drilling new holes in the splash guard to get them to line up properly?

The problem is I notice them. Besides, the rocker panels on the current generation are magnets for trapping dirt on their top side so splash guards or not the sides will get dirty.

That is why you clean them then.... besides I would rather have dirt, then have rock chips...

As for installing the GT 500 mudflaps, I am having my Ford dealer install mine. He has done this on the rear with another GT but not on the front. But he is willing to do both for me when my Bullitt comes in. I know 06einr from the Mustang Forum was able to install both the front and the rear without any problems. You can check out the archive threads there on Oct 13, 2007 for his input. I remember that he had to drill a hole in the plastic wheel well liner and on the top of the map flap for the install for the front. He may have had to do a little trimming on the mudflap for the front too. Hopefully others in this forum will have some advice on the install of the GT 500 mudflaps on a GT.

I was lucky to have them already fit on my GT/CS without any modification. I love them!

Bumpers on CS are different than standard GT and the Bullitt - and same as on the GT500. So no mods needed for the GT 500 mupflaps when putting on CS. But I am thinking when putting them on Bullitt, it may be necessary for rear install to punch new holes in the mudflaps so that they will fit but not have the smooth part (along with the square hole for the clip) stick out. And for front install to punch hole in wheel well liner for top of mudflap. Anyone install GT500 flaps on standard GT or Bullitt?
