SilverHorse Racing taillight bezels
First production piece (minus anodizing, where the other 300 are) is mounted to our car - will be in Orlando tomorrow.
Production parts should start arriving by the end of next week from the anodize shop, with chrome and polished versions a few weeks after that. (They normally run 3 weeks for the finishing).
Pictures this weekend. Although it might be 11:59pm Sunday night when I get them done!
Oh, and (LOL)
our new cup-holder bezels are coming along nice! I have a couple prototypes done, they need a lot of work yet before I'll approve them though. (I know, no more parts in this thread !!!)

NO! Now you'll end up making me choose between your parts and MGW. How can I fit 2 of the same type of parts?
I'm glad to see you're going gung-ho on this. I have a new job which goes to full-pay status next week. Sounds like it's time for a gift to myself.

Thanks for the compliment, as I consider MGW to be a good supplier of products. That said, there are some things we feel we can improve on over some of the competitors in the market, and obviously, if I think it can be done better, we'll try and do it.
Ok - it's official, we're breaking out the thread on the center medallion! Check it out, the classic style is shown in the post below:

On taillight bezels - no.
On rear medallion - still haven't returned from anodizing yet.
On interior bits - coming along.
On quarter windows - early fall - should have some hard data on our costs this weekend.
Am I forgetting anything at the moment?

Taillight Bezels:
We have a shop lined up that can do the work we want. They also have done work for places like the Vatican (no kidding), so I think the quality will be a no-brainer there. On the flip side...
The issue now is funding the project. Like many of our parts, they are heavy on the front side in funding, with lower costs as the run goes on. All, and I mean all of our funds are currently tied into getting the rear medallions and quarter-windows to market, while at the same time managing inventories of our other products like the Honeycomb panel and Fuel doors as well.
So, if you have to have taillights done today, or next week, I will say you need to shop what's available on the market right now. I don't want to tell you that, but I also don't want you being disappointed and upset if this doesn't get back on the fastrack until around Christmas time either.
As usual - just the honest answers as I can tell them. For better or worse...

Hey Marcello,
How about doing a pre-order for the bezels, at a reduced price, like you did for the taillight panel? That would give you a hint on initial production figures and give you some up-front money too.
Give us a price to reserve a set and I'm sure the checks will start rolling in.

Ken,
We'll be doing that for the windows first, as everything short of the mold is done for them. I was hoping we wouldn't have to, but these projects are so expensive, that there is no other way for a small business to do it, short of letting the wolves in the front door - which we aren't willing to do. This is one reason you don't see a ton of companies doing stuff like this - it takes cubic dollars on the frontside just to make a single part (let alone two that are mirror images of one another...)
I can't do it for the taillight bezels because they don't have the amount of $$ already in them that the windows do. We've already heavily invested in the window project, and it is very close to fruition. The bezels - we've just got the basic design and the shop to do it - no software models, no quotes on exact dollars (lots of rough numbers, nothing concrete), etc.. so I can't with an honest face ask anyone for money on something I can't yet point to a calendar and say "This date here is the day they should be done."
When I can, we will. Like the window thread, this one may lie dormant for a while, get kicked around, beat up a bit, then, out of the blue, I'll do a search and revive it. Hopefully we'll still have some interest in them when that time comes.
In the meantime, keep an eye on the other stuff. The rear medallions *should* arrive this week (I know - that's what anodize told me last week too), the interior bits are moving forward, and the quarter window project is getting ready to shift into high-gear in the coming weeks. It will be a few weeks behind where I hoped, but it is going forward, and we will still make fall delivery at this rate. (Molds take so long to produce....)
Anyway, I know some of you may be disappointed, some may be upset, but remember, I try and keep the lines open so you know what's up. Good or bad, I try and bring the news, and hopefully, you will know that we are straight-shooters and have only your car's best interests at heart in our designs.

Marcello,
Thanks for the honest reply. I understand what you are going through. Don't worry, do what you have to do when you have to do it. When a new product is ready, let us know. When you build it -- we will come.

$$ as usual....oh and time...
Quarter window project is hogging funds and time at the moment, and summer being what it is in the industry, taillight bezels are circling in the hold pattern for now.
Just the honest truth for you. That said, since medallion replacements hit next week, and quarter windows are moving forward (albeit at great cost) the next thing that will get my attention when funds permit will be these I think, especially since I am curious to see this shop's take on our ideas, and what their ultimate capabilities are. (again, they literally work for the Vatican, so I'm thinking we should see something really nice here).
That, and I think there is still a market for a top-of-the-line solution for the bezels, because I still didn't like the latest set I had seen / ordered to try. And if I want something better, I've got a feeling a few of you guys do too.
