Side Scoops not well stuck

On the drivers side, the lower rear section is like, well, not properly adhered...I don't think it's coming unstuck, as its been like that since a week after I took delivery (I noticed when I washed it the 1st time), and the pass side the top rea section is in the same condition. The root of the problem is that the scoop doesn't have the same curvature as the body panel, so the natural elasticity of the plastic makes it want to come unstuck....anyone else have a similar situation? Anyone taken it back to a dealership for a warranty repair?

Tried to uplod pics, but there must be something wrong with the forum, cause it jumps to the "page cannot be found" deal halfway through the upload...

Thanks!

Yes sir, I'm on my 3rd Drive side Pod and it hasn't gotten any better. I even tried 2 different dealers. I even pulled the shop foreman out to look at it and showed him how little pressure it took to push the top back corner in to match the body side. Problem is the radius on the back top corner has no backing to place any tape on. The 2 sided tape stops about 1 inch on either side of the corner. I suggested they fill in the corner with body filler or something so they could place some tape there but I haven't taken it back a forth time to let them try again, maybe this winter.

So I'm not alone. I've thought about pulling the fakes off alltogether, kinda like a "mod", but one where you take something off instead of adding or replacing something...

When you remove them there will be 2 1" round holes in your fender.

hey - all we need to do is add some duct work to make them functional maybe help cool the rear brakes

i looked at mine and it looks like i have it too. are these held on solely by tape or are they also bolted to the body?

My wife and I actually discussed making them functional.....nd now that I find out there are already holes there...well...maybe I'll explore that a little more.......

the side pods are held on with about 75% around the inside with 2-sided tape and 2 appx 1" holes that fit 2 plastic christmas trees style plugs that are attached to the side pod. I guess you could make them functional by making bigger holes in the fender and taking out the black diample front and also the inside fender (wheel) guard.

Sorry to hear you guys are having problems. All of my scoops....side and hood seem to be well placed and in fine shape.

Truth be told, I'm a nitpicker.....they look fine for 98% of the population....it's only when you get to examining them up close that you see they aren't adhered to the same degree 360º around the scoop.....like when you're hand drying your car. Are you saying your side scoops have exactly the same "gap" all around the parallelogram, ¼Horse?
